Abulia Savant has been rocking lately, and Gaming in Full Color is no exception. Based on his recent Fading Suns campaign, Don looks at using color when you describe your NPCs — and the dramatic impact doing so can have.
About The Author
Martin-TT
"Martin Ralya (TT)" is two people: Martin Ralya, the administrator of and a contributor to Gnome Stew, and a time traveler from the years 2005-2007, when he published the Treasure Tables GMing blog (TT). Treasure Tables got started in the early days of RPG blogging, and when Martin burned out trying to run it solo he shut it down, recruited a team of authors, and started Gnome Stew in its place. We moved all TT posts and comments to Gnome Stew in 2012.

I love this idea!
I subconsciously did a bit of this with my current character – she’s mostly a reds and oranges kind of gal. I also related her to an animal (she’s a kitsune/fox who lost her fox spirit and is stuck as a human) but she still strongly associates with foxes. Will likely do the colors and animals with my character in the next campaign. (need to think on this for a dwarf…)
On Abulia’s site I mentioned the thought of cultures and color. There are some cultures where color plays a vital part. Red and the Asian cultures is a primary example.
That’s a great expansion of Don’s idea — thanks for sharing it. 🙂
