Like a (Video Game) Virgin

HIGH Experiencing video game history for the first time. Again.

LOW …including the stuff I've always hated.

WTF Why aren't I out of this cave yet?

The Awakened Fate Ultimatum Review

Doesn't Reach the Heavens

Awakened Fate Ultimatum

High: The complexity of the moral choices is interesting.

Low: Gameplay is simple. And not in a good way.

WTF: A red-haired, black-wearing antiheroine who sounds like Michelle Ruff? Where have we seen that before?

Gravity Ghost Review

Actually pretty solid

Gravity Ghost

HIGH: The understated (but still neat) physics and non-stressful, challenging gameplay. The characters. Also, the music.

LOW: Wait-didn't I get those achievements?

WTF: Mazes are those things on neurological tests I always did really badly on. Why are they my favorite part of this game?

Preview: Assault Android Cactus

Australian indie developer Witch Beam has only made one game so far, but boy, does it set the bar high. Assault Android Cactus is a manic twin-stick shooter in the style of Robotron 2084 and Smash TV. In early access alpha, the game is not yet complete: only three of its five bosses are available at the time of this writing. Nevertheless, what's on offer is not only polished, but has solid, addictive gameplay under the hood.

Diablo III Second Opinion

Stay awhile and loot things

HIGH Beating Diablo without using any Health Globes

LOW Getting my Hardcore Wizard to level 10…and dying.

WTF This is a game about keeping demons from overrunning Earth. I'd be disappointed if it weren't firmly in WTF territory.

Time and Eternity Review

For Better or for Worse

HIGH The hand-drawn character designs seem straight out of an anime.

LOW The Fiance Who Wouldn't Die
.

WTF The Fiance Who Wouldn't Die is actually the protagonist.
