Not really. Galaga Legions was a ill-conceived puzzle game with Galaga art assets but otherwise very little connective tissue. Space Invaders Infinity Gene was fun for about an hour. I think the gold standard for classic arcade reboots is Pac-Man Championship Edition (or its own remaster/sequel, Championship Edition DX) on XBLA.
Tim, do you consider any of the recent Galaga or Space Invader updates/reboots worth playing?
Thanks for the podcast! I enjoyed the talk about Arkham Knight, particularly the spoiler segment, but it’s a shame that Brad couldn’t contribute due to him having not played the game yet. Richard did what he could to counterbalance the praise provided by Tim and Jeffrey, but since he hadn’t completed the game it meant that the game wasn’t properly held to account. In any case, I’ve chosen to avoid playing Arkham Knight, despite having played the previous three titles, with Origins being a particular struggle to get through due to diminishing returns. Congrats to GC for reaching 15 years. Frikken amazing in the early internet age. It’s a testament to the staff that keep it all together. Well done to everyone.
