Recently, GameCritics was invited to a hands-off demo stream of Bethesda’s upcoming PS5 console exclusive Ghostwire: Tokyo, developed by Tango Gameworks. As a huge fan of their previous release, The Evil Within 2, I jumped at the chance to check out their new game in action. After a short introduction by Game Director Kenji Kimura, we were treated to approximately half an hour of footage from near the start of the game. Not to spoil anything in advance, but it kinda looks rad as hell.
HIGH The infinite number of hands needed to pet all the doggos.
LOW The backtracking required to solve puzzles and board the planes.
WTF The tornadoes are a rather cruel idea!
HIGH Getting anything done before the time’s up.
LOW Being beat up by every man in the story.
WTF The sheer amount of bugs and craziness is astounding.

LOW Zero onboarding assistance after a year.

HIGH Finally figuring out the final boss’ pattern and weakness.
LOW Those zombie sorcerers are way too fast.
WTF So… no hints at all about the secrets?
HIGH The satisfying throwing knife pick-up animation.
LOW Little variation in an overlong game.
WTF Undefeatable enemies!?
